Starting on Saturday 16 May the hugely popular rock pop band Texas, who are celebrating 25 years at the top of the music industry, will entertain the crowds after racing at Uttoxeter. On the same evening, Human League will be performing live at Doncaster and the supreme selection of talent continues through the summer months, including UB40 playing at Chepstow on 30 May and Doncaster on 6 June.

Madness, a huge hit with racegoers in previous years, tour again at Doncaster on 27 June, Chepstow on 10 July and Wolverhampton 25 September, while Newcastle looks forward to Tyneside’s favourite band Lindisfarne on 6 June, and the recently back on tour Spandau Ballet on 28 August. 70s big hitters Slade will be playing at their home town of Wolverhampton in September, and hugely successful 80s/90s band James who reformed in 2007, will be entertaining the crowds at Worcester in August.

As part of the summer musical entertainment across the ARC group, popular DJs will be spinning the decks and mixing the sounds to create a massive party atmosphere to follow on after racing. The fabulous duo of Jo Whiley and Vernon Kay be hosting at Doncaster on Unison Day. Whiley will also provide solo entertainment with DJ gigs at Fontwell Park and Royal Windsor whilst Vernon Kay will be hosting at Sedgefield in August. Leading radio presenter Sara Cox will be touring in June, appearing at Uttoxeter, Chepstow and Lingfield Park. BBC Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton completes the line-up with a one-off show hosting at Royal Windsor on 1 June.

The entertainment is sought, booked and managed by Mark Spincer, Assistant Director of Operations at ARC who said, “I’m really pleased to have secured such a fabulous line-up of really popular bands and DJs. I think the mix of entertainment across the group will appeal to both established racegoers and potential new customers who are looking for a day or night out with a difference. Tickets are already selling and I would urge people to plan ahead and book in advance to avoid disappointment as some of these may be sell-out events”.

Full details and booking information for all the music nights can be found on racecourse websites.
