Ahead of Racing Staff Week, 29 June to 6 July, Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) and the National Trainers Federation (“NTF”) are delighted to announce the launch of a new badge scheme for Racing Grooms via www.racinggroom.com.
The new scheme will allow members of RacingGroom.com the opportunity to visit ARC racecourses on up to four occasions per year, including two passes that may be used by guests of the badgeholder.
RacingGroom.com was established in 2018 by the NTF, with funding from The Racing Foundation, as a free resource for all racing staff, industry stakeholders and employers to complement existing careers advice services in British Racing.
The website includes information and advice to newcomers to the industry looking for routes into entry into a career as a Racing Groom as well as training and contact details of Trainers offering work experience or employment.
For those already in employment as a Racing Groom, the website offers access to trainer and racecourse information, health and wellbeing support, training options and providers and a unique CV and cover letter building tool. In addition, exclusive rewards, such as the ARC RacingGroom.com Badge Scheme are available.
Operations Director of ARC, Mark Spincer, said, “We’re really pleased to be introducing this new badge scheme for Racing Grooms that will sit alongside the ones we already operate for Owners with the ROA. The team at RacingGroom.com and the NTF have developed a really useful resource for Racing Grooms working in British Racing and we hope that this scheme will offer some enjoyable afternoons and evenings out for them, their friends and families at our racecourses.”
Shelley Perham of the NTF commented, “We’re thrilled to be working with ARC to initiate this exclusive badge scheme for racing grooms. It has been an ambition for us from the start to not only give aspiring and existing racing grooms a platform with which to really develop and take ownership of their career, but also to be able to offer them exclusive benefits to reward their dedication to the sport. This badge scheme facilitated by ARC will offer racing grooms the opportunity to attend race fixtures as guests, and share their passion for racing with friends and family.”
The ARC RacingGroom.com Badge Scheme will be eligible for over 500 fixtures across the 16 ARC racecourses per year. In 2019, racing fixtures featuring live music at Wolverhampton (Madness and Jess Glynne, 30 and 31 August) and Doncaster (James on Saturday 17 August) will be included in the scheme.
