• 1,619 fixtures across 12 tracks

Today, The Racing Partnership (“TRP”) confirms its 2018 Greyhound Fixture list will comprise a minimum of 1,619 fixtures.

The 1,619 fixtures will be televised from 12 greyhound tracks: Belle Vue, Kinsley, Newcastle, Nottingham, Perry Barr, Peterborough, Poole, Sheffield, Sunderland, Swindon, Towcester and Yarmouth.

The list has been compiled in close collaboration with the Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Service (“BAGS”) which represents the retail industry. These tracks currently make up the majority of the current BAGS schedule and so are both familiar to, and trusted by, bookmakers and their customers. The TRP service will also include fixtures from Towcester who already provide content on TRP on Saturday mornings. Towcester is also home to the sport’s highest profile event, the Star Sports Greyhound Derby held each summer.

As well as the new greyhound service, TRP will also be broadcasting from an additional 13 Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) racecourses from 1 January 2018, which will take them up to 22 UK racecourses, along with South African horseracing.

ARC’s Director of Media Technology and Production and Director of The Racing Partnership, Mark Kingston said: “We are delighted to have put together a fixture list based on greyhound racing from long established tracks with a proven record of integrity and welfare. We have published the fixture list now to allow bookmakers to plan at a time of great uncertainty, and to protect the value of over-the-counter business in their shops. Similarly, online and international bookmakers will be able to plan on the basis that these tried and tested greyhound tracks will be available as part of the services they supply to their customers.”
