Arena Racing Company (“ARC”), Doncaster Racecourse and Vertem Asset Management are delighted to announce the renewal of Vertem’s sponsorship of the Futurity Trophy.

Vertem Asset Management has sponsored the Group 1 contest, the final such race of the British Flat season, since 2018. During this time, the race has seen some of the most successful two-year-olds from Britain and Ireland compete over a mile.  This year’s renewal will see the Futurity Trophy, alongside supporting races across both Friday and Saturday of the two-day Doncaster meeting run under a Vertem banner for another five years.

Vertem Futurity Trophy winners Magna Grecia and Kameko both went on to subsequent success in the next year’s 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket, with Mac Swiney winner of the Irish version at the Curragh. Luxembourg, victorious in the 2021 renewal, equally went on to further Group 1 success in the Irish Champion Stakes earlier this year.

The 2022 Vertem Futurity Trophy, worth £200,000, is once again set to be a fantastic race, with 17 entries including Aidan O’Brien’s AUGUSTE RODIN. The race will be broadcast live on Saturday 22 October by both Sky Sports Racing and ITV Racing.

Racehorse owner and breeder, and founder of Vertem Asset Management, John Dance said, “We are delighted to be able to continue our association with the Futurity Trophy for another five years.  The race has consistently proven itself to be one of the highlights of the end of the season and we could not be more pleased at the number of horses that have gone on to even further success from our race.

“We very much look forward to working with the team at Doncaster for another five years, and hope that we can continue that run of giving racing fans some excellent pointers as to the three-year-olds to follow come next spring. Furthermore, Jess and myself remained determined to win it one day ourselves!”

Group Director of Commercial Strategy and Partnerships at ARC, David Leyden Dunbar, said, “John and Jess Dance are fantastic supporters of British Racing and we are delighted to renew Vertem’s sponsorship of what is one of the highlights of the season at Doncaster for another five years. Our thanks go to them and the entire team at Vertem Asset Management for their continued support.”

Tickets are available for the Group 1 Vertem Futurity Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday 22 October. Please visit www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk for more information.
