Greyhounds

28 September 2020

Nottingham Greyhound Stadium can confirm that restaurant facilities will be in place for the first round heats of The 2020 Star Sports & ARC Greyhound Derby on Friday and Saturday 2 and 3 October.  Following liaison with Nottingham City Council, the Stadium will be able to offer restaurant facilities, with limited numbers, on both evenings.

A priority booking window will be made available for owners with a greyhound running in the Derby heats on the night it is running. The priority window will be between 10am and 12 noon tomorrow, Tuesday 29 September and owners should telephone 0115 910 33 33, option 2, from 10am tomorrow.

With the very limited capacity, bookings will be on a first come, first served basis and tables are subject to both minimum and maximum booking sizes. Tables will be available for 2, 4 or 6 and there are limited number of each available. After 12 noon tomorrow bookings can then only be made on line, via Nottingham’s website, www.nottinghamdogs.com, and again any availability will be on a first come, first served basis. A discounted package rate will be available for owners.

Capacity in the restaurant is substantially reduced to allow for social distancing measures which must be followed, and all customers will be required to register with the NHS Track and Trace system upon attending.  Full table service will be in operation for all customers throughout both evenings for food, drinks and betting.

ARC Greyhound Operations Director, Rachel Corden said, “We are pleased that we can offer a safe and enjoyable dining experience for owners and customers at this weekend’s Greyhound Derby heats, albeit it will be very limited, and with no access to downstairs or to terracing. The stadium has been zoned so that the racing side is kept separate. As with all other hospitality venues we continue to liaise with the Council and as such, we should stress that plans are dynamic and we will continue to take on board the latest Government and Council advice as required. We will update owners and customers with our plans on a weekly basis.”
