ARC racecourses welcomed over 1 million people in 2025, an increase of almost 15% on the previous year.

This increase reflects a positive trend across British Horseracing, with the Racecourse Association reporting attendances back to over 5 million for the first time since 2019.

ARC Head of Communications and Public Affairs, Sam Cone, said, "ARC racecourses were proud to welcome over one million racegoers in 2025, a total increase on 2024 of almost 15%. We saw positive rises across most areas including general admission and hospitality sales, as well as a large increase in under 18 tickets.

"It was pleasing to see a number of our feature racedays perform particularly well, with increases across the Jenningsbet Midlands Grand National, Coral Welsh Grand National and Betfred St Leger Festival, as well as as a generally strong end to the year over the winter and festive period."

As well as feature racing days, Ladies Days proved particularly popular at ARC racecourses in 2025, headlined by Newcastle's fixture in July which saw a 23% increase on attendance against 2024.

ARC greyhound racing venues also saw positive increases in attendance figures of 5% year on year. Highlights of the year included the opening of Britain's newest greyhound racing venue at Dunstall Park in Wolverhampton, which hosted the £20,000 Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks Final in October.
