ARC Pledges Support To British Horseracing’s Charity RoR

Arena Racing Company (ARC) is delighted to announce its support for the charity Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) during 2013. 

The backing from the UK’s largest racing group will increase awareness amongst racing audiences of RoR, highlighting the opportunities for racehorses to retrain for second careers and go on to enjoy a fulfilling life after racing. 

Jim Allen, Racing Director said: “ARC is proud to be involved with RoR charity this year to help showcase the achievements of many former racehorses and we know how vital it is to support racehorses in their retirement.” 

ARC’s campaign will be effective at all of the groups’ racecourses, it will feature RoR banners at all 15 racecourses; advertising in racecards, plus the screening on course of the RoR’s Annual Review video which includes footage from RoR’s championship series’ in showing, eventing, polo, dressage and show jumping with contributions from well-known racing and equestrian personalities. RoR’s supported centres; Greatwood, Heroes, Moorcroft and Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre will also be given a boost and be permitted to hold bucket collections at a number of race meetings throughout 2013. 

Other events, PR and promotions will be planned for the year. RoR will be organising its popular parades of former racehorses its first took place at Newcastle Racecourse on John Smith’s Northumberland Plate day on 29 June and then a second will take place at the Doncaster St Leger. ARC is also planning its involvement with RoR’s Racing to Polo Challenge in September.
