Todd Carty is an actor and director who has grown up on television screens in a variety of roles. His stage appearances have ranged from serious drama to pantomime, and he has worked on radio plays, voiceovers, commercials, narrations and films. The highlight of the four-day festival, the Group 1 Betfred St Leger Stakes, attracts some of the leading trainers and horses from across the country. Boasting a glittering roll of honour comprising some of the most acclaimed horses in history, this race is the final leg of the esteemed British 'Triple Crown' comprising three British Classic races – the Newmarket 2000 Guineas, the Epsom Derby and finally, the Betfred St Leger Stakes. Winning all three Group 1 races is considered the greatest achievement in Thoroughbred horse racing and was last achieved by Nijinsky in 1970. The St Leger Stakes is open to three-year-old colts and fillies and is run over a mile and six furlongs.
