A hundred years in the making. Join us as we celebrate a landmark moment in racing history – the Centenary Raceday at Chepstow Racecourse. Since opening its gates in 1926, Chepstow has become one of the most iconic venues in British racing. Nestled in the beautiful Wye Valley, it has been home to unforgettable sporting moments, legendary horses, and generations of passionate racegoers. This 100th anniversary raceday will honour that rich history while looking forward to the next century of racing in South Wales. Chepstow Highlights Through the Years

1926 – Chepstow opens its doors, with the very first fixture attracting crowds eager to see top-class racing in South Wales. 1949 – The Welsh Grand National is staged at Chepstow for the first time, becoming one of the most prestigious races in the National Hunt calendar. 1975 – The great Corbiere, who would later win the Aintree Grand National, takes the Welsh National crown at Chepstow. 1989 – Bonanza Boy lands back-to-back Welsh Nationals, cementing his place as a Chepstow legend. 2009 – Synchronised, trained by Jonjo O’Neill, wins the Welsh National before going on to Aintree Grand National glory in 2012. 2026 – We mark 100 years of Chepstow Racecourse, celebrating the horses, jockeys, trainers, and fans who have made it what it is today.
