Doncaster Racecourse is no stranger to awards – but this week they can be particularly proud as they celebrate two in one week!

At the Betview Awards held on Thursday 2 May, Doncaster won ‘Racecourse of The Year’, awarded for providing the best experience for the betting and racing public. The awards ceremony took place in London and celebrated excellence across the industry.

The Betview awards have been running for five years and Fontwell Park – another ARC racecourse was also a winner in 2011.

This award for Doncaster follows hot on the heels of recognition by The Racecourse Association (RCA) and VisitEngland™ as one of the top ten racecourses in England and Wales for visitor attraction and customer experience.

The VisitEngland ‘Quality Assured Racecourse Scheme’ has seen racecourses across England and Wales independently assessed and marked on all aspects of the customer experience. These include pre-visit checks as well as a full assessment of the raceday facilities on offer.

Mark Spincer Managing Director of Doncaster Racecourse said “We are thrilled to receive these two awards this week. The team at Doncaster Racecourse set the bar high in 2012 and entered 2013 with a plethora of goals - not least to maintain high performance and continue to deliver truly great experiences to our leisure and business customers. Receiving these awards give us recognition of the work we are doing but also spurs us on to deliver a better experience on every single race day we offer”
