Wolverhampton Racecourse is delighted to be hosting The bet365 Good Friday Raceday.

The day will be Wolverhampton Racecourse’s richest ever raceday with prize money of £156,000, superseding the recent Lady Wulfruna Stakes Day which was worth £151,000.

Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) is pleased to have been able to work with bet365, an Authorised Betting Partner of British Racing which undertakes considerable sponsorship within the sport, to support Wolverhampton’s first ever raceday on Good Friday.

The day has received strong support from horsemen with 132 entries across a seven race card and a good crowd is expected with many people able to enjoy a bank holiday on Good Friday. It will be a busy week for the team at Wolverhampton Racecourse with racing on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday where there will be a host of family entertainment, including pony rides and an Easter egg hunt.

bet365’s Steve Ibberson said: “Racing on Good Friday is clearly popular with racegoers. While we were looking forward to sponsoring at Musselburgh we are thrilled to be able to support Wolverhampton’s richest ever raceday. With a strong field of entries it looks like being competitive racing and should be a great day for all involved.”

Head of Partnerships at ARC, David Leyden Dunbar said: “Everyone at ARC is enormously grateful to bet365 for supporting the first ever Good Friday raceday at Wolverhampton. We would also like to thank the BHA for their assistance, as well as the European Breeders’ Fund for their support of the day. With the £1.1 million All-Weather Championships Finals Day at Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton’s richest ever raceday we are all looking forward to what looks set to be the best day of all-weather racing ever hosted in Great Britain.”
