Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) today announces the extension of its media rights agreement with At The Races. The five year deal will take the partnership between the two companies to June 2019, 15 years after the commencement of the joint venture in 2004.

At The Races is the UK’s largest dedicated horseracing channel and is available in more than 13 million UK and Ireland homes via Sky, Virgin and UPC and around 6,000 commercial premises. Its website,, is the most visited racing and betting website in the domestic market.

Arena Racing Company retains its major shareholding in At The Races alongside its partner in the venture, BSkyB.

The renewal of these rights for a five year period reflects the confidence that ARC has in the At The Races business model and its prospects for generating long term growth in racecourse media rights revenues.

Tony Kelly, Managing Director of ARC said “We are delighted to have renewed our rights agreement with At The Races. For us it is not only about maximising value but also about being at the forefront of new technologies and having maximum exposure for our racecourses, both domestically and internationally.

“At The Races’ recent creation of its own streaming platform, Sports Mediastream, is an important development in a changing market place and the amount of online, mobile and tablet streams is increasing month by month. In addition, the exceptional talent employed by At The Races and the support they provide to their racecourse partners, helping them to promote horseracing to the widest possible audience, means we are excited by what working together in the future can achieve for ARC and British Racing.”

Matthew Imi, Chief Executive of At The Races, said “As well as being a major shareholder in our business ARC is also the UK’s largest racecourse group and we are very pleased to be extending our already excellent relationship for a further five years. ARC has always been a major asset to our business not only in media rights terms but also in its continued and significant support of our ongoing growth strategy and we look forward to helping them, and all of our other racecourse partners, to maximize the value of their product.”

Mark Winterbottom, Business Development Director at BSkyB said: “We are very pleased ARC has committed to another long term association with At The Races. Not only do we value our partnership with them but we firmly believe we can achieve further growth going forward in what is already a highly successful venture.”
