As part of ARC’s continued programme of track investments work is due to commence at Lingfield Park to improve the drainage on its turf course. The work will take place on the downhill section of the course prior to the home straight. This should ensure more consistent going, particularly during the National Hunt season.

The works will not involve any transfer of fixtures from Lingfield Park thereby minimising the impact on the race programme. With approval from the British Horseracing Authority, it has been agreed that the races due to be staged on the turf course in July and August will be transferred onto the all-weather track.

In addition to work at Lingfield Park ARC is also investing in resurfacing of the straight at Great Yarmouth, as well as further drainage improvements at Chepstow, Fontwell, Sedgefield, Worcester, Newcastle National Hunt track and Southwell’s turf track which is also having investigatory work into flood prevention carried out. Uttoxeter also had drainage work carried out in 2013.

Jim Allen, ARC Racing Director, said: “We are pleased to have the opportunity to invest in improvements in Lingfield Park’s turf track. As home to the All-Weather Championships Finals Day we can look forward to more years of successful and competitive racing across all codes at Lingfield Park.”
