The countdown to the All-Weather Championships on Good Friday is about to be enhanced with the introduction of the TurfTrax Sectional Timing and Tracking System on the Polytrack at Lingfield Park for a trial period. From 12th February to Good Friday, 18th April sectional timing data will be available at 23 All-Weather Championship meetings.

The TurfTrax sectional times will record 1 furlong fractions of each horse and the finish time of the winner and each runner as it crosses the line. During the race the on-screen broadcast information will show the order of leaders and 2 furlong fractions for each horse throughout the race. The data will then be made widely available.

Jim Allen, Director of Racing at ARC said, “Sectional timing is something we have been keen to introduce, principally at our all-weather tracks, given the consistent nature of the going in comparison to racing on turf. We have chosen TurfTrax as it is the only system in the UK that offers both sectional timing and positioning. Sectional timing is used widely in many parts of the world and the positioning element will help to enhance the customer experience.”
