Additionally, guest rooms are designed for work and comfort, with such features and amenities as large work desks, ergonomic chairs, Serta beds, a mini-fridge, HDTV and complementary Wi-Fi.

This exciting opportunity is for an ambitious experienced Receptionist looking for your next opportunity to part of the opening team of the hotel reporting to the Reception Manager.

The successful applicant will join a team of passionate operators who are working hard to deliver excellence in all what we do.

We have 40 hour and 20 hour contracts available for this role. When applying please state which contract is preferred.

 

What will I be doing?

As Receptionist, you will provide reception services for Guests to contribute to an overall exceptional experience from check-in through check-out and complete audits, as required. A Receptionist contributes to the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Achieve positive outcomes from Guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure an efficient reception experience for Guests, including check in/out, and complete audit procedures, as required
  • Ensure that both the Front Office Manager and Reception Supervisors are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from guests and, or, other departments
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service at all times
  • Attend appropriate training courses, when required, and assist with the Night Team’s training and development efforts
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties
  • Maximize room occupancy and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities
  • Use the correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Act in accordance with policies and procedures when working with front of house equipment and property management systems
  • Follow company brand standards
  • Assist other departments, as necessary

This is a challenging yet rewarding role for a motivated and conscientious Groundsperson. The successful candidate will report to the Head Groundsperson and will be an important part of ensuring that ground conditions are at their very best, promoting Bath racecourse as the chosen venue for owners and trainers to compete their horses.

Under the direction of the Head Groundsperson you will carry out a maintenance programme for the course. The work entails working outside in changing and inclement weather conditions and at times can be physically demanding. This role has huge variety from preparing the course for racing to maintaining the parade ring, car parks, lawn and garden areas. This role will include preparation and reinstatement of the course before, after and during racing and will include using machinery, tractors and other maintenance equipment.

What will I be doing?

A Sous Chef, will work closely with the Head Chef to manage aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Sous Chef will also be required to manage food provisions, assist with guest queries, and control costs.   • Manage all aspects of the kitchen including operational, quality and administrative functions
  • Manage the provision of food to Food and Beverage outlets and taking action where necessary to ensure compliance with current legislation
  • Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure food stuffs are of a good quality and stored correctly
  • Contribute to menu creation by responding and incorporating Guest feedback
  • Ensure the consistent production of high quality food through all hotel food outlets
  • Manage customer relations when necessary, in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Ensure resources support the business needs through the effective management of working rotations
  • Support brand standards through the training and assessment of the Team
  • Manage the kitchen brigade effectively to ensure a well-organized, motivated Team
  • Control costs without compromising standards, improving gross profit margins and other departmental and financial targets
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
  • Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
  • Be environmentally aware

What will I be doing?

As Reservations Coordinator, you will work with large groups, conference bookings and event bookings, working alongside the General Manager to agree rates. The Reservations Coordinator will interact frequently with customers and guests to learn about their needs and develop relationships from which to earn repeat and expanded business. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Maximise all Group, Conference, and Event revenue opportunities
  • Review business plans, identify gaps and ensure proactive efforts to fill capacity and meet set targets
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments’ adherence to achieving that strategy
  • Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market
  • Conduct weekly spot checks of five bookings carried out with a minimum of 90% achieved in any departmental and system audits for any Team Member
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager to generate high quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts
  • Organise hotel promotional activities

The Meetings and Event Sales Executive will have a specific responsibility to proactively increase sales of non-race day business at the racecourse including meetings, conferences, weddings, banqueting events, parties and outdoor events.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Identifying potential new customers and either approach them directly (via cold calling, research, competitor awareness etc.) or create initiatives to generate sales
  • Managing existing accounts ensuring they receive excellent customer service and then keep a dialogue open to ensure they are aware of all future opportunities to buy our products
  • Champion online presence with third party sites and booking agents
  • Manage relationships with booking agents including promoting the venue and group options
  • Reporting performance on a weekly basis
